This is my second attempt now so I could really need some help. 16 seems to be the must have amount for gaming etc these days if you're on 10.I want to build a slim Windows 10 Pro N 圆4 ISO based on 20H2 (Build 19042.631) which has all the unneccesary stuff removed and some privacy tweaks applied. Idk how much ram you have man, but i only have 8 gigs and i'm border lining it really hard.

in my testing my tweaks have cut the iso down from 3.61 gigs down to about 2.5 but i've yet to thoroughly test its stability. i'm just removing tons of garbage from a wind10 enterprise ltsc 1809 iso. if my iso works properly and runs to your needs i'll try and share it with you. It's impossible unless you create your own modified iso, and that's still a maybe and i'm actually working on testing that now. just pokin fun :PĪlso on windows 10 i sit at about 2 gigs of ram usage with nothing running and thats with literally every garbage aspect of windows 10 burnt to the ground. Not trying to be rude, but you have hardware so new that it's not compatible with windows 7, but you can't afford more ram? lol. Is there anyway to delete a whole shitload of system files and still have Windows operable and play games online? And I do have hardware restriction that I can only have Win10+ Problem with that is I still want to play games that require Windows 7/8/10. You'd want something like Embedded, or one of the minimal server installs, or even try LTSB (Long Term Service Branch. If you are looking to reduce the memory footprint of Windows, then using 10 is the wrong direction. What I really want to do is get windows memory usage as low as it can.ĭoes anyone know how I can do This and still use Windows properly? But mess with one or the other (as in delete them from system) and you won't be able to see your log in screen and have to reinstall windows. And that the windows shell host is practically the same thing. The online info for dwm is that it configures and displays the desktop, task bar, start, etc and it's visuals. There's two processes I want to disable but can't.ĭwm.exe (desktop window manager) and windows shell host (which falls under svchost.dll I think). Unfortunately after disabling Windows Updates (for Defender, antivirus etc), you have to enable Windows Updates temporarily to download a language pack (the os installer is BR-Portuguese).īut after that for some reason RAM usage goes up to 1.6GB. And this is without updating or using Windows Defender and Cortana. The add or remove programs is in the old list style, pre Windows 8.1. After installation and loading it up, it uses 85-95 processes, and RAM use is around 1GB and CPU use is 0-1%. So I downloaded and installed a Windows 10 OS.
